Japan  continue to provide Myanmar with assistance on the development of an industrial complex near the largest city of Yangon. Japan’s industry minister Toshimitsu Motegi met with Myanmar’s Minister of Electric Power Khin Maung Soe in Tokyo on Monday.
Motegi said the joint development project at the Thilawa special economic zone is proceeding well with an aim to launch operations in 2015.
The Myanmar minister responded that his country appreciates the assistance provided by Japan.
The project to develop the Thilawa zone is a major component of aid to Myanmar by Japan’s public and private sectors.
The two ministers agreed that Japan will provide financial and technical assistance to build power plants and an electricity grid to secure a stable power supply for the zone. Media agencies
