92.7 BIG FM DELHI’S ‘DARYADILI’ RECIEVES REMARKABLE RESPONSE IN CAPITAL NETWORK PARTNERS WITH NGO GOONJ TO HELP THE NORTH INDIA’S UNDERPRIVILEGED DURING BITING WINTER MONTH LONG DRIVE HELPS COLLECT AROUND 15,000 WOOLLENS New Delhi, January 8, 2014: 92.7 BIG FM’s fifth edition of ‘DaryaDili’, an initiative, which aimed at making the chilly winters of the North a more tolerable affair for underprivileged residents, has received an astounding response from the citizens of Delhi. With the winters in North India claiming many lives a day, 92.7 BIG FM conducted a Collection Drive encouraging the more privileged citizens to donate warm clothing, which can help protect the poor and under privileged from the harsh weather. After the tremendous success of the last 4 editions of the ‘DaryaDili’ campaign, 92.7 BIG FM, once again, undertook the initiative to urge Dilwalas to step forward and donate woollens to the underprivileged, who face the brunt of the chilling cold. By the end of the campaign on December 31, 2013, the DariyaDili team visited 15 Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) and Corporate Houses in Delhi NCR and collected more than 15,000 clothes. The RWA of Sainik Colony in Faridabad Sec. 49 turned out to be the leading contributor with more than 3,500 clothes, followed by the residents of Shahdara RWA, who donated around 3,100 woollens. Employees of organizations such as Tata Teleservices, Minda Industries, Make My Trip, India Mart, Heritage Institute and AD Design also came forth to contribute to the noble cause. 92.7 BIG FM RJs encouraged citizens to donate through on-ground interactions and a host of supporting activities. The network then handed over the contributions made by various individuals, RWAs and Corporate Houses to NGO partner GOONJ. In the coming days, the collected garments will be distributed to underprivileged people. This winter, 92.7 BIG FM is taking the initiative across its stations, covering 20 cities in North India. Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ashwin Padmanabhan, Business Head 92.7 BIG FM said, “We are thrilled to witness such an encouraging response from the people of Delhi. Indeed, the winter months are among the most difficult times of the year for the underprivileged. We have always encouraged our listeners to participate in social issues and campaigns, which lend a helping hand and bringing about a positive impact to the lives of the underprivileged. We also thank GOONJ for helping us in this endeavour and the people of Delhi for stepping forward to bring much needed warmth the lives of fellow citizens.” About Reliance Broadcast Network Reliance Broadcast Network Limited is a media entertainment conglomerate with play across radio, television and television production.
