Tenison Joseph: Revoke suspension of Adv. Anima Muyarath Sign My Petition They abused her verbally and then threw chairs at her. Anima, a young female lawyer, put up Facebook posts about gender discrimination in the Lawyers’ Bar Association of Kozhikode, Kerala. The Bar Association suspended her for it. At the General Body meeting of the Association, she was asked to apologise. When she bravely refused, they verbally abused and threw chairs at her! As a fellow lawyer, I am appalled at this discrimination. I strongly feel that her suspension should be revoked. That’s why I started this petition on Change.org asking, Tenison Joseph, the Secretary of Bar Association, Kozhikode, to revoke Anima’s supension. Suspending her is an act of gender discrimination as well. It is also an attack on her Fundamental Right to Speech and Expression. I am shocked that the Bar Association indulges in such practices. Kozhikode Bar Association has produced brilliant lawyers and it should support lawyers like Anima who stand up against injustice. It is also their responsibility to stop gender discrimination at the Bar Association. Sign my petition.
