Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal issued the following statement on Saturday, October 4 :

On 2nd October, the Prime Minister had appealed to the people of the country to step out of their homes and participate in the cleanliness drive.
The Aam Aadmi Party not only supported this decision, but also actively participated in the campaign. But what next ?
All the VIPs returned to their homes after holding brooms for a short while. So, now it is the responsibility of all of us to monitor the campaign for cleanliness. The Aam Aadmi Party is launching the next phase of its campaign from today.
We appeal to the people of Delhi not to remain quiet any longer, in case they see the garbage anywhere. Please click a photograph and submit it to your local MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) office along with a complaint.
Alternatively, please send us that photograph and its location on Whats App on the number 8588833540.
We will send all these complaints from across Delhi to the three mayors of the Municipal Corporations of Delhi, all of whom are currently from the BJP.
We sincerely hope that all the three BJP-controlled corporations of Delhi will leave no stone unturned in making the Prime Minister’s cleanliness campaign a big success, and that they will immediately take action on the complaints they will receive.
We will also be posting all the complaints along with photographs on our website and we will also update the people about the follow-up action on their complaints.
It is the duty of all of us to make Delhi clean.
The AAP will organise an interactive discussion session with all the Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) of Delhi to discuss the systemic reforms required to keep the national capital clean.
The party will hold its first such meeting with the RWAs on October 12 (ENDS)
(Please find enclosed Hindi translation of the statement)

Regards.
