Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for ways to promote speedy recovery of global economy. Addressing business leaders in Melbourne, Australia today, he said there is also a need to find ways for sustainable and easy growth. Modi said his government is actively working to revive the Indian economy. He said that reforms are being introduced in India to ease doing business.
Mr. Modi said, India is working for revival of economy and is committed to create responsible atmosphere for carrying out business activity. The country has registered growth rate of 5.7 per cent in the 1st quarter of this fiscal which is one per cent more than the previous year, he said. Mr Modi said, he is looking forward to work closely with the Australian government. He said, India’s focus is on infrastructure including national highways, irrigation works, modernization and high speed rail.
Mr Modi invited the CEOs to invest in tourism infrastructure as there are a lot of opportunities in the sector. The Prime Minister said, he is personally committed to environmental issues and wants to make India a gas based economy. The meeting also deliberated on education, services, energy, banking and IT. the Prime Minister also thanked Australian Prime Minister Tony Abott and his Government for their respect and hospitality. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met Governor Alex Chernov in Melbourne.
