In the Women's Singles first round yesterday, top seed Saina defeated Yin Fun Lim of Malaysia, 21-17, 21-12, while third placed Sindhu eased past Ekta Kalia, 21-6, 21-12. In the Men's Singles, top seed Srikanth edged past Malaysian Kian Meng Tan, 18-21, 21-13, 22-20, while Kashyap beat Ankit Chhikara, 21-7, 21-14. Other Indians who have progressed to the last-16 include HS Prannoy, Sai Praneeth, PC Thulasi and Arundhati Pantawane. They will play their pre-quarterfinal matches today. |
