Seven miners die of gas suffocation in Balochistan coal mine

LORALAI: Seven coal miners who were trapped inside a mine in Dukki area of Balochistan since last evening, died of gas suffocation on Friday.
According to Levis sources, a gas had penetrated inside a mine which caused it to cave in on Thursday evening and trap eight miners of whom one died of suffocation the same day.
Eleven more miners were sent to rescue the eight trapped miners, however, as they attempted to go inside they fell unconscious after which they were themselves rescued last night. The body of one of the eight trapped who had suffocated, was also retrieved last night.
Rescue teams from Quetta were called last night to retrieve the other seven remaining miners, however, efforts proved futile as they all died of suffocation today.
