Dubai Global Convention 2015
Golden Peacock Awards,
MAKE IN INDIA
on 20-22 April 2015 in Dubai
New Delhi (India) : 'Every corporate must envisage making a difference beyond business. While the Government will do its best, we must as corporate work shoulder to shoulder with them. We stand at an inflection point. Today, we can truly change the face of the nation and world.'- says Mrs Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, Aditya Birla Group at the IOD, India's last month 9th International Conference on CSR held in Mumbai.
It attracted a large number of CSR stakeholders who highlighted how the developmental activities can be supported and funded by the industry, both in public sector as well as the private sector, and thereby help in socio-economic transformation of the country. The Convention was attended by a large number of CMDs, Directors of Private & Public Undertakings.

The Rt. Hon. Baroness Sandip Verma , Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change, Govt of UK in her maiden visit to India, inaugurated this year's Convention on CSR in Mumbai. In her inaugural address she called upon collaborative interventions that could help in addressing  a number of  development issues. Others who addressed include Mr. Subhash Desai, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Govt. of Maharashtra, Dr. S.S Kshatriya, IAS, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra, Dr. Jaco Cilliers, Country Director, UNDP (India) and a number of other leaders.

Experience of CSR is growing and CSR practice is evolving and developing. CSR should be integrated into the corporate governance framework. In particular, there should be a CSR committee with three corporate directors, one of whom should be an independent director to ensure CSR policy of the organisation- few of the recommendations at the Convention . A detailed report is covered in the February issue of 'Quality Times'.
Today, India is the fastest growing economy in world. It offers immense opportunities for making in India. Whereas,  2015 has been declared as the Year of Innovation in UAE.
2015 is also historic for the Institute Of Directors (IOD), India as it celebrates its 25th Anniversary. We believe that Industries should constantly innovate and compete for investment, growth & opportunity in this age of rapid change, those who lag behind will become irrelevant.
On this occasion, IOD India is hosting its next annual 'Dubai Global Convention' ‘Leadership for Business Excellence and Innovation’ on 20-22 April 2015 at Hotel The Meydan in Dubai.
This years' theme will be focusing on " Leading 21st Century Organisation, through 'ICE' (Innovation, Creativity & Excellence) ". The Convention will also have felicitations for this year's best performing organizations with famed Golden Peacock Awards for Quality , Training, Business Excellence & Innovation.
It will also have special sessions on 'Make in India ' - the most innovative dream project of India's Hon'ble Prime Minister to develop strong multi-country linkages and networks to assist the transformation of the global economy, when India is blessed with 3Ds (Democracy, Demography &  Demand). The effort will be to highlight global business excellence models, zero defects to spur quality  and identify those that can be applied in India for faster growth and thereby supporting “Make in India” programme globally.
As in the past, we expect over 100  top organisations and more than 250 business leaders, industrialists, policy makers, parliamentarians, jurists, governance & innovation professionals, from across the globe, to participate in the event, particularly a large contingent of top Indian corporate CEOs, apart from distinguished special addresses by senior ministers of Indian Government, UK Govt & UAE Govt with a gracious presence, of few senior VIPs, from UAE and Dubai Governments.
