Heat on Power: Green Rating of Coal-based Thermal Power Plants(2)
Dear Reader,
Green Rating Project (GRP) of Centre for Science and Environment undertook environmental rating of the coal based thermal power plants in India estimating nearly half of the total power generation capacity of the country. The ratings were done based on extensive research and analysis using more than 60 key parameters, over a period of two years.
CSE has just released this vitally important book on the operational, environmental and social status of the Indian coal-based thermal power sector, based on the above study.
HEAT ON POWER: Green Rating of Coal-based Thermal Power Plants

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS REPORT
Apart from the Thermal Power sector this revealing book would be of utmost interest to all forms of power producers across the world. Power sector regulators - CEA, CERC, State ERCs, pollution control regulators, PCBs - would all stand to gain. So will global and Indian Consultants, researchers, analysts, Central and State policy makers related to Power, Environment, Coal, Climate and Energy, and of course politicians and decision makers who can utilise this information to bring on the necessary changes in this sector. It would also be useful to Credit Rating Institutions, Banks and financial institutions, Insurance companies, angel investors, International development and donor agencies,Embassies, Judicial agencies and Lawyers. Associations like CII, FICCI, Assocham, Stock Exchanges, International and Indian NGOs, engineering colleges and university libraries besides all major libraries would also find this report very beneficial. And finally, all the decision makers in States, where these plants are operating from, would gain a better perspective of the issues at hand and help in addressing them.
This ratings book would also be an eye opener for other leading industries on what the community is expecting of them and how to make themselves more environment-friendly, voluntarily.
