S-W monsoon to be late by 4-5 days, says Met dept |
Indian Meteorological Department, IMD has said that the south-west monsoon will be delayed by four to five days this year and it is likely to arrive on the mainland of India over Kerala around 4th to 5th June. Director of IMD, B P Yadav said, the wind pressures and speed have not become conducive for the Monsoon to advance over the Indian land mass, which is causing the delay.
Earlier, it was predicted that the monsoon will arrive by 30th May. The weather office in its long-range prediction, forecast a below normal monsoon rainfall pattern over the entire south-west monsoon season this year. |
