People in Japan's southern main island of Kyushu are facing strong winds and heavy rains as Typhoon Goni rips through the region. The storm is causing gusts of nearly 200 kilometers per hour. Heavy rains have been pounding a wide area in southwestern Japan. Local authorities have issued evacuation orders and advisories in areas that could be affected by the storm. Airlines have cancelled nearly 250 domestic flights to and from the Kyushu region for today. |
