Russian President Vladimir Putin kicks off the inaugural Eastern Economic Forum’s opening ceremony in Vladivostok with an address to the nation.

On day two of the forum and with foreign dignitaries and representatives from major Asia-Pacific companies in attendance, Putin’s speech will highlight the strength of the Russian economy and the promising potential of investment opportunities in the Far East. A number of lucrative deals worth billions of dollars are expected to be formalized throughout the forum, which runs through September 5th.

Putin arrived Vladivostok fresh from attending China’s massive military parade in Beijing, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
