Defence Ministry supports the proposal of induction of women fighter pilot in principle: Manohar Parrikar

Oct 9,  12:22 PM Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that his Ministry supports the proposal of induction of women fighter pilot in principle, except where there are operational or training problems. Interacting with media on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today, Mr Parrikar said, the procedure in this regard is on and keeping the difficulties in mind, Government will announce the policy soon. The proposal will be discussed at a meeting called by Mr Parrikar with the three Service chiefs next week. Replying to a query on anti-Pakistan protests in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, the Minister said, Government is concerned on the issue and Minister of External Affairs has taken up the issue at the right forum. He said, it is a lesson for those who support Pakistan in the Kashmir valley.
