The most Historic Moment in the history of USA In 1776, 56 delegates have gathered at Philadelphia to draft and agree upon the Declaration of Independence. This legendary moment is the most crucial in the American history. After 41 years of that day, Mr John Trumbull painted a mesmerizing oil-on-canvas painting depicting it, which is hung in the Capitol Building.

The various stamps, coins and notes launched to celebrate this historical day were as follows:

Stamps: : “The 49 star American Flag stamp was launched on 4th July, 1959 in  Auburn, New York along with the 48 star 4cent, 1957 stamp in combination. The flag in the stamp represent each state of America. A total of 50 stars are present in the American Flag on today’s date. It shows Betsy Rose making the First American Flag. Surely a moment of pride!
The John Trumbull painting was later portrayed in a 13 cent tenant souvenir stamp sheet in 1976. It was also portrayed on a 24 Cent stamp issued as a part of the 1869 pictorial series of definitive U.S History. A Photogravure technique was used on these stamps. It is printed in two colors, green and violet and used a G grill. An unused sample of this stamp with an inverted center still exists & is currently valued at $ 275,000.

Coins: A commemorative coin of this historic moment also was launched on 4th of July 1926. It was an American sesquicentennial half dollar – celebrating the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It depicted the Images of Liberty Bell on one side & George Washington & Calvin Coolidge, the 1st and the 30th Presidents of USA respectively on the other
