PM Modi’s New Ministers in Union Cabinet
PM Modi appointed minister who were inducted in the expansion of Narendra Modi cabinet yesterday have started assuming their charges .
Member of Parliament from Bikaner in Rajasthan Arjun Ram Meghwal today took charge as the Minister of State for Finance. After taking charge Mr Meghwal called on Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Another newly appointed Minister of State for Finance Santosh Gangwar also took charge. Speaking to media after taking over, Mr Gangwar expressed confidence that GST bill will definitely be passed in the upcoming monsoon session of the Parliament.Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain also took charge today.
Minister for Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that quick justice delivery is key to good governance and Modi government is committed for good governance and development. Speaking to media after taking charge of his Ministry in New Delhi, Mr Prasad said, judiciary is important and integral in India and government respects the institution of judiciary. The Minister said, his job will be to ensure that the sanctity between judiciary and executive is maintained and vacancies are filled in the courts.
Replying to a query on Uniform Civil Code, Mr Prasad said, the matter is pending before the Law Commission and it needs comprehensive discussions.
Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Anil Madhav Dave also took charge from his predecessor Prakash Javadekar.
