SCST Atrocity Conviction Rate - 2.8% Gujarat vs UP 54%
Conviction Under SC/ST Act as reported by PIB on February24, 2015 is average 22% in India and UP rank No.1 in SCST Conviction rate.
West Bengal and Gujarat are Worst – 1st & 2nd from bottom with conviction rate of just 2.3% and 2.8% for 2013.
So when UNA incident was made public issue there was STATE WIDE ERUPTION of anger against atrocities on Gujarat SCST.
If we take out conviction rate of top Six Big States conviction rate under ATROCITIES ON SCST in India will be under 10%.
But when Poor, Farmers and Minorities are clubbed – Gujarat would sink to bottom in justice for poor and weaker sections.
