Fuel hike: Petrol up Rs 1.34 a litre, diesel by Rs 2.37

Petrol has become costlier by 1 rupee 34 paise per litre and diesel by 2 rupees 37 paise. The new rates came into effect midnight last night. Petrol will now cost 66 rupees 45 paise in Delhi. It will cost 69 rupees 8 paise in Kolkata, 72 rupees 83 paise in Mumbai and 65 rupees 96 paise in Chennai. 

The new rates of Diesel will be 55 rupees 38 paise in Delhi, 57 rupees 64 paise in Kolkata, 61 rupees 5 paise in Mumbai and 56 rupees 95 paise in Chennai.

Indian Oil Corporation said, the prices were hiked keeping in mind the current level of international prices and rupee-dollar exchange rate.
