I am a single mother trying to get a passport for my son. Ask Sushma Swaraj to simplify rules so that single parents can get passports easily for their children. Sign my petition Dear Sagar Media Inc, I escaped from my abusive husband when I was pregnant. I am a single mother and I have a wonderful10-year-old son.  For the past 3 years I have been fighting to get my son a passport. The passport office says I need my ex-husband’s permission.  But my ex-husband has remarried and he is never coming back.  If I am capable of raising my son on my own, then why can’t the government issue his passport with just my name on it. Sagar Media Inc, help me get my son a passport. Sign my petition and ask the Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj to simplify the rules for single parents. The Delhi High Court has said that a mother’s name is sufficient to issue a passport. However passport offices don’t follow this rule.  My son needs your help and so do all the single mothers in this country who are fighting all odds to raise their children. Sign this petition and join us in this fight.
