COMMANDER, FRENCH FORCES CALLS ON COAST GUARD ADG

 A French delegation led by Rear Admiral Didier Piaton, Joint Force Commander of the French Forces deployed in Indian Ocean Region paid a courtesy call on Additional Director General VSR Murthy PTM, TM during his visit to Indian Coast Guard Headquarters on 19 Jan 17.
2.           Indian Coast Guard and the French Navy which also dons the role of the French Coast Guard are formidable forces providing SAR services, Pollution control services besides being law enforcement agencies in their respective area of responsibility and collaboration between the two agencies would bring in positive impact on addressing various maritime issues in Indian Ocean Region.  During discussions, both sides explored areas of co-operation on maritime issues, especially on marine pollution response.

3.           During the meeting, cordial discussions were held on issues of mutual interest and for strengthening the ties with both the maritime organisations.
