CPR Initiative on Climate, Energy and Environment is pleased to invite you to the
The BP Statistical Review of World Energy
Dr. Kaushik Deb
Thursday, 17 August 2017, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Conference Hall, Centre for Policy Research
The BP Statistical Review of World Energy provides high-quality objective and globally consistent data on world energy markets. In this edition, we note that growth in global primary energy consumption remained low in 2016; and the fuel mix shifted away from coal towards lower carbon fuels. Energy markets were buffeted by two separate forces: the continued adjustment to the short-run cyclical shocks that have rocked energy markets in recent years, particularly the oil market; and the growing gravitational pull of the longer-run energy transition that is under way. 2016 was a year of both short-run adjustments and long-run transition, and this year’s Statistical Review shines a light on both influences.
About the Speaker: Dr. Kaushik Deb is an economist at  BP in India where he is responsible for overseeing the analysis of natural gas markets in Group Economics, with a focus on LNG markets. RAJIV KUMAR,IN GOI, NITI AYOG REPLACED

August06, 2017 © Ravinder Singh progressindia2015@gmail.com
This government had ‘Too Many, By My Standard, All Nano Leaders Without Silencers’ as real appraisal of their performance – Rajiv Kumar is the only one in this government with Silencer so far.
I know him for 17 years – invited to Events organized by his NGOs. He listens to everyone including Worst Critics – His writings didn’t IMPRESS me was critical of him. But he knows what’s required to achieve 10% growth, how growth could be even 12%-15% in near future.
Only good thing about Rajiv Kumar is that he has watched Progress of Economy from FAKE Shining to GREAT LEAP during UPA-I – Slow Down in UPA-II primarily due Negative Campaigns, Agitations & Litigations – to Nose Dive in last three years.
Credit Growth to Industry $427b June14, $406 June17 (-) 5%
He Clearly Knows Under UPA Rule Credit Growth to Industry could be Even 25% Annually – But Per Capita (-) 11% in Three Years.
Non Food bank credit increased by 13.0% in June 2014 as compared to 13.5% in June 2013.
Non-Food bank credit increased by 4.8% in June 2017 as compared to 7.9% in June 2016.
Credit to industry increased by 10.3% in June 2014 as compared to 14.2% in June 2013.
Credit to industry contracted 1.1% in June 2017 in contrast with an increase of 0.6% in June 2016.
NDA-II need to replace 11 Dead Trees* – 5 Ministers, Jaitley, Gadkari, Prabhu, Bharti, Prasad for their WEIRD IDEAS, LIES & EXPERIMENTS and Kant, Chand, Debroy, Saraswat, Chand 5 in Niti Ayog for their Spineless Character.
*Dead Trees Don’t Absorb CO2 & Release OXYGEN – Are Dangerous also.
11th RBI Governor Urjit Patel, though can’t be removed but can be persuaded – a Duck Grade professional who couldn’t see GSPC Zero Output [Rs.20,000 Cr NPA Worst in India] even in 20 plus years – as GoI appointed Director.
Amitabh Kant has flopped for 7-8 years since he moved from Kerala to Center is top liar also. He never admits he had been a total disaster all his life. He takes credit for creating ‘Gods Own Country Campaign – Kerala has slipped in Tourist Arrival Ranking since then’.
Ramesh Chand from Punjab where Farmers are in ‘Deep Economic Crisis’ in spite of world record productivity. ——–
Rajiv Kumar in Niti Ayog has marginal role in Directing Economy, no Control over Implementation unlike Montek Alhuwalia in Planning Commission.

‘PROS’ OR ‘FILE PUSHERS’ INC NEXT DISASTER IN MAKING IN POLITICS

August06, 2017 (C) Ravinder Singh progressindia2015@gmail.com
When INC was expected to lead Opposition Alliance – it is totally ‘Confused’ – INC always had by virtue of generations of politics – evolved in to ‘Educated Class’ but it is Totally Wrong to label them all as Professionals and the only non-professional is Rahul Gandhi – their leader. Practically nothing has changed in INC with Shashi Tharoor leading professionals wing if INC.

But by the time say 3 years [INC realized it was not run professionally in over three year after winning and then losing Bihar] – INC will be reduced to 4-8 Seats in Lok Sabha.

Totally Professionally Qualified Party INC – is totally failed party and losing elections every year because they are only File Pushers.

Doctors or Engineers – even Plumbers & Electricians – give them any problem and they shall control the problem immediately. A Fever or a Fracture, an Eyesight Problem are instantly corrected.

Naresh Trehan would go to a Ophthalmic Technician to correct any sight problem, Similarly and Eye Specialist would go to Naresh Trehan for Bypass Surgery.

Political Professional Actually means File Pusher – A Lawyer drafts case, an Accountant keeps track of Financials of an Organization, but can’t make Companies Produce Products of Improved Quality & Performance.

Rahul is meeting Farmers, Flood Affected, Riot Affected and Poor people of India in last 20 years – couldn’t address their problems and gradually lost their support.

Shashi Tharoor in 2009 was hauled by anti-Coca Cola NGO – couldn’t find solution to a Sub Village level problem – I was helping him for Coca Cola was creating jobs & Paying Taxes.

Coca Cola was using only 500 KL of water per day – tube-well at my farm was taking 90 KL/H of water for 12 acres – Coca Cola 500 Kl/Day for 80 acres. Kerala is High Rainfall state – 90% River Flows going to sea wasted.

When Shashi Tharoor can’t defend Coca Cola and make people realized it is creating lakhs of jobs for State & India – Rahul can’t find solution to the problems of Rural Poor, Farmers, Disaster Hit and Riot Affected –

Ø How can they address Bigger Issues, Provide Social Justice to our people?
Ø How can they make Voters believe they are Better Option than Rivals?
Ø Obviously INC Has Options to Hire Best Qualified?
Ø When INC can’t address day to day problem, —
Ø — How shall it address heaps of National & State problems.

ARUNFM:GST ROLLOUT WAS ‘EXTREMELY SMOOTH’

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said the roll-out of the Goods and Services Tax was ‘extremely smooth’ and without any disruption in the country. Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, he also rejected the argument that trade registration under the GST was less and said a record number of registrations have taken place.
On the alleged irregularities connected with the Medical Council of India clearance to a private medical college involving a BJP functionary in Kerala, Mr Jaitley said that the state BJP had taken prompt action against the worker. He claimed that the BJP is the only political party in the country, which, as part of self-introspection, takes action. He added that in several states, people have been caught for improprieties and parties were strongly trying to defend them. Mr Jaitley said that if a party sets a precedent by dismissing a member for irregularities, it is a good action and also a good step in Indian politics.
BJPs Kerala unit came under a cloud after an internal party report purportedly said that a functionary allegedly took 5.60 crore rupees bribe to facilitate approval from the Medical Council of India for the college at nearby Varkala.

Ajeetesh Sandhu takes third, Divyanshu Bajaj and Abhinav Lohan share fourth

Bengaluru, August 6, 2017: India’s Khalin Joshi bagged his career-best Asian Tour finish, a second place, at the inaugural TAKE Solutions Masters, a US$300,000 event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGTI. Joshi posted a valiant final round of four-under-67 at his home course, the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA), to end up with a total of 14-under-270, two behind champion Poom Saksansin of Thailand.

Khalin Joshi (68-67-68-67), whose previous best on the Asian Tour was tied second at the 2015 Bashundhara Bangladesh Open, went one better with his lone second finish in front of his home crowd on Sunday.

Joshi, who trailed leader Poom by two shots after round three, couldn’t get past the latter on the final day as both players came up with rounds of 67 on Sunday. Poom dominated the tournament leading from round one till round four.

The 24-year-old Khalin, who has three wins under his belt on the PGTI, had a promising start to round four as he made three birdies on the first six holes which included a chip-in on the fifth.

But two poor approach shots on the seventh and ninth resulted in bogeys for Joshi and even the birdie on the 10th couldn’t make up for those losses. The bogey on 14 almost saw Khalin’s chances of victory disappear.

He then made a brave charge with three birdie conversions from 10 to 20 feet on the last four holes. However, it was a little too late as Poom too delivered birdies on the 16th and 17th to drive home the advantage.

Khalin, who climbed from 84th to 38th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit post his runner-up finish, said, “The runner-up finish sets me up for the second half of the Asian Tour season. I’ve asked for a few invites in the second half, so hopefully I’ll get them and can make good use of them and improve on my standing in the Asian Tour.

“I knew there will be a lot of birdie opportunities going into the back-nine as I have also traditionally played better on the back-nine. I just had to make birdies and put pressure on him. I did put pressure on him on the 15th hole but he played pretty solid towards the end to take it through and be the rightful winner. Hopefully, I can have a week like he did, sometime in the near future.

“My friend Shubhankar Sharma told me that the seventh and ninth holes would be the key in the final round and I ended up making bogeys on both. On both the seventh and ninth, I followed up great tee shots with a couple of poor approach shots. Those two errors cost me dearly. But overall, I’m really happy with the way I fought as I put myself in contention going into the last few holes. Hopefully, I can carry this performance forward.”

India’s Ajeetesh Sandhu (69-72-67-66) carded a creditable 66, the day’s joint best score, which pushed him up from overnight tied eighth to third place at 10-under-274. He thus equaled his previous best result on the Asian Tour which came at the SAIL Open 2011.

The Indian duo of Divyanshu Bajaj (69) and Abhinav Lohan (69) shared fourth place with Indonesia’s Rory Hie at nine-under-275. As a result, Divyanshu and Abhinav also recorded their best ever results on the Asian Tour.

The presence of Honey Baisoya (67) and Rahil Gangjee (68) in tied eighth at seven-under-277 and of Chikkarangappa (73) in tied 10th at six-under-278 made it a total of seven Indians with top-10 finishes.

Among the other prominent Indian names, Jyoti Randhawa was tied 16th at five-under-279, Shiv Kapur finished tied 20th at four-under-280, Shubhankar Sharma claimed tied 26th at three-under-281, Gaganjeet Bhullar posted a tied 29th at two-under-282, SSP Chawrasia ended tied 43rd at one-over-285 and Chiragh Kumar was tied 48th at three-over-287.
