German President Wulff quits

German President Wulff quits in home loan scandal he has been in the job for less than two years.
German President Christian Wulff:,said  "I have acted without fault and always been honest" German President Christian Wulff  announced his resignation, after prosecutors called for his immunity to be lifted.An important ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel, Mr Christian Wulff is involved in a scandal over a home loan that he accepted when he was premier of Lower Saxony.

Chancellor Angela Merkel cancelled her  visit to Italy on Friday to deal with the crisis, and said she regretted that he had quit.
