Manipur(60)  Manipur, the Congress retained  the Assembly elections, winning 42 seats in a 60-member House. Trinamool Congress has won seven seats and MSCP has bagged five. While, Naga People’s Front got four seats. NCP and LJP have won one seat each.

The ruling Congress under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Okram Ibobi Singh created a history in the electoral politics of Manipur with a landslide victory in state Assembly polls. This is the hat-trick for the Chief Minister Mr. Okram Ibobi Singh. According to the Chief Minister, the verdict is in favour of development work done by his government during the last five years.

In these elections, the Manipur People’s Party, BJP and CPI fail to open their account. However, surprisingly, new entrant Trinamool Congress got the position of main opposition party in the assembly by winning seven seats.
Congress winning more than two-third majority in the elections, all the exit polls have been proved wrong.
