IAC: Khurshid must be sacked

Arvind Kejriwal and other activists of India Against Corruption have decided not to leave the makeshift Jail at Bawana until Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid is removed from his post for financial irregularities in his trust.

Kejriwal along with his associates Gopal Rai, Manish Sisodia and hundreds of activists from IAC marched along with physically challenged persons who were protesting the embezzlement of funds by NGO run by Khurshid and his wife.

Law minister had insulted the high office he is supposed to uphold, Kejriwal said.

Both the minister and his wife are influential people and they can tamper with evidence, he added.

They were detained and taken to various police stations. While Gopal Rai was taken to parliamentary street police station along with some supporters, Kejriwal and Sisodia were taken to the makeshift jail at Rajiv Gandhi stadium at Bawana. Later Gopal Rai was also taken to Bawana.

Women activists were manhandled by the police and other activists were beaten up some of them badly.

India Against Corruption joined the march by Rashtriya Viklang Party to the Prime Minister’s Race Course residence to press for their demands. It is shame that the government is using force to muzzle the voice of disabled people rather than listen to them and take decisive action and uphold the law, Kejriwal said.

We call upon all those people sympathizing with the cause to come forward and join the satyagraha for removal of the Union Law Minister.

Similar protests were observed in many other cities including Farukkhabad (Salman Khurshid's constituency), Lucknow, Amritsar, Patna, Bhopal, Dehradun, Indore, Jaiur, Raipur, Ludhiana, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, etc.
