Hizbollah says its fighters support Syria

The leader of Lebanon's Shia organization Hizbollah says the group is sending fighters to neighboring Syria to support the government of President Bashar al-Assad. Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah made the reamrk during a televised speech on Saturday. Nasrallah told thousands of supporters that the Assad administration is the backbone of resistance against Israel, and cannot be allowed to fall. He said Hizbollah cannot stand back and watch, and promised his supporters victory. In Syria, fierce fighting continued on Saturday in Qusair. The strategically important city links the capital Damascus and the northwestern part of the country, which is the Assad family's traditional stronghold
