The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) today released the Internet Economy Watch Report for the month of March 2013. As per the report, in the e-tailing category, designer labels clocked 80% y-o-y growth when compared with the numbers of corresponding month last year. Designer label segment saw 2.38 million visitors in March 2013 as compared to 1.32 million visitors in March 2012.

Mobile phones recorded 71% y-o-y growth with 5.81 million visits in March 2013 as compared to 3.40 million visits in March 2012. The footwear and branded apparels segment also registered a y-o-y growth of 39% and 20% respectively when compared with the number of online user hits from last year.
Data captured from prominent e-tailing sites reveal a decline in online user visit to spa and restaurants segment with 0.45 million hits in March 2013 as compared to 0.58 million in March 2012.  Visit for books which witnessed 1.57 million hits in March 2012 increased to 1.94 million in March 2013.

The monthly digital tracker shows that the number of resume uploads has gone up to 1.25 million in March 2013 from 0.73 million in March 2012, whereas the number of profile uploads on matrimonial websites has witnessed a decrease. Profile uploads on matrimonial sites was 0.66 million in March 2013 as compared to 0.69 million in the corresponding month last year.

While irctc.com registered 23% y-o-y growth in the e-ticketing segment, air tickets booked online in March 2013 were 1.40 million as compared to 1.21 million in March 2012, a 16% y-o-y growth.
