Invitation for discussion on Struggle for Land Rights and new Land Acquisition Act

Dear Friends,
Zindaabad !
After years of struggles by the people's movements in the country, the colonial Land Acquisition Act, 1894 has been repealed and a new law titled, Right to Fair Compensation, Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013, been enacted.
NAPM has organised a two day meeting on November 19-20, 2013 at Gandhi peace Foundation, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi to discuss the struggle for land rights and against displacement in the context of the new land act. The meeting has been organised with three key points in mind :
1. Understand, know and explain the new act to many of the struggle groups who will be coming for this.
2. What is going to be its political implication once the law will come in force on the ground.
3. What next for the land rights struggles, in the current context when struggle for land and resources attached to it are unfolding in urban centres, villages, forests and on coast too ?
