Picking people who have neither Qualification nor Experience to head
important states is a tragedy of India. In spite of Deng Xiaoping like
Control of Gujarat under Modi it remained just above average state. It
contributed 7% to India GDP in 1990, 2002 & 2014.

At an event Tarun Vijay was all praise for Development in China and
was reminded that China government has all top Engineers, Scientists
who had run big industries as their Political Leaders – which is
absolutely rare in any government. I had always told BJP friends that
until BJP engages Qualified & Experienced Engineers in KEY positions
it shall not be able to achieve above average results.

Till date idiots like Suresh Prabhu – were its Chief Development
advisor and is replaced by Uma Bharti or Piyush Goel in Water and
Energy sector most crucial to India at present.

BJP can’t be running GoI and states with people of Lame Duck abilities.

The problem with Fadnavis or Khattar is that they are dependent on
advisors like dubious Inventor SAM PITRODA for policy and decision
making which like Worms in Stomach makes the state weak from within.

Example: – Earlier Indira Gandhi had Maheshwar Dyal as advisor on
Energy & S&T around 1983. Nephew of President Zail Singh was given a
Contract to install Solar Water Heating system of biggest hotel in
Delhi – I was introduced to him and I told him of some BLUNDERS in the
design approved by Maheshwar Dyal – All the 450 SWH were connected in
series means all the Circulating Water had to pass each one of them
was the worst. It was Rs.2.5m project with 50% subsidy to be approved
by Maheswar Dyal. I told him I shall as a Consultant help him execute
the project in 2 months against two year term of contract . Even after
a decade he had a Small Scale Unit in Okhla making Tandoors when he
might have been executing big projects all over India and exporting
also. He was very close to Rahul Gandhi also – five Mobiles were
imported by India and he had one of them to be connected with Rahul
Gandhi.

Hundreds of Critical Technologies couldn’t be implemented in India
Partly because of Corrupt or Incompetent MINISTERS, Secretaries,
CORRUPT CSIR & NRDC Other GoI Departments and Crippling of PATENT
OFFICE. All developed and advanced countries have Robust Patent Office
Technologies are Commercialized Rapidly and Companies invest 2% to 10%
of their revenue on R&D.

Recently I reported how Rajan Gupta, LANL was trying to Influence GOI
with his Foolish Energy Skills and GOI had already appointed an Idiot
as Chief Economic Advisor. He was advocating rise in GHG emissions
from 0.66 Billion Tones in 1990 to 5 BT 1932 largely based on Coal
Fired Power, when I advocate GREEN Energy avoiding 3 BT of GHGs.

GOI need ‘Chief Technical & Inventing Officer’ to enable application
of latest technologies in most economical & productive manner.

Although this style of dance came into being in the metropolitan areas, it has been influenced by martial arts since its very beginning. Eminent Citizens Write to Prime Minister Calling for Review and Discussion on Sardar Sarovar Dam in the National Interest

New Delhi, October 29 : Former National Advisory Council Members, retd bureaucrats, academics, artists, activists and others led by Justice (Retd.) Rajinder Sachar, in an open letter to Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has urged him to call for a Review and Discussion on Sardar Sarovar Dam in the National Interest. Mr. Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the construction work at the Dam Site and Garudeshwar Weir on October 31, after the decision to raise the height of the dam was given on June 12th.

The letters says, “the decision to raise the height of the dam further, will affect 44 additional village communities and one whole township, upto 214 kms long area in the Narmada basin, with 45,000 families. This will be done in violation of the NWDT Award and SC Order, since the resettlement and rehabilitation of the people are not complete yet on the ground.” They further added that, “the fact that completion of this particular project has been priority for Mr. PM, however, as the Prime Minister of the nation, he is expected to look after the welfare of all the citizens, and ensure that the lakhs of oustees, especially in Madhya Pradesh, belonging to the farming, fishing and working classes do not face destitution.”

They urged that the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had given assurance to the Supreme Court in 2006 that as per law, all the project affected people will be rehabilitated first and then only the dam will be completed. Mr. Modi is bound both by virtue of his good office and by law to keep up this promise. It is in this light that Prime Minister, should call for a discussion and review of the ground situation on resettlement and rehabilitation in the larger national interest.

Subject : Calling for a Review and Discussion on Sardar Sarovar Dam in National Interest

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

We are writing this letter with much agony and enormous concern regarding the formidable impact increase in height of the Sardar Sarovar Dam on river Narmada will have. It will adversely impact the lives of adivasi (tribal) & rural communities, submerge precious natural resources – land, water, tree cover, fish and kill the pure and pious river, Narmada. Narmada – home to the oldest of human civilizations with rare archeological monuments. We request your personal attention and intervention to to stop this wanton destruction.

We know and most of us have witnessed the fact that at the present height of the dam, 122 m, itself there are 35,000 and more families residing in the submergence area and hence yet to be rehabilitated. The decision to raise the height of the dam further, erecting 17 meters high gates, to the full reservoir level, i.e. 138.68 meters, will affect 44 additional village communities and one whole township, upto 214 kms long area in the Narmada basin, with 45,000 families. Submergence of highly fertile agricultural land, thousands of houses, wells, schools and other amenities, temples, mosques and at least a million trees, should not be imposed without full, fair and legal rehabilitation. The adivasis, dalits and others in the Valley should not be evicted, and their property should not be evicted without complying with the Supreme Court’s directive and NWDT Award. Moreover this human tragedy and man-made disaster cannot ever be acceptable.

We are further informed that immediately after the decision was announced by the NCA on 12th June, the oustees and their representatives met the concerned Ministers at Delhi and appraised them of all the facts, ongoing legal and judicial processes, pending litigation, inquiry into corruption and non-compliance of the orders of the Grievance Redressal Authorities; urging them to put the decision on hold. The Ministers were not fully aware of the project and the ground realities but assured review of the matter.

We realize that the decision is to keep the gates open for the time being, however, erecting the gates itself is akin to raising the height of the dam, which is to be unlawful. The backwater levels now shown to be reduced, after 30 years since the original surveys before 80’s, are not scientifically drawn and hence any construction beyond the present height cannot be pushed today as drowning and destruction of houses and fields in the large farming belt of Nimad, M.P. has also begun since last few years and will be worse.

We are not unmindful of the fact that completion of this particular project has been priority for you. However, as the Prime Minister of the nation, you are now expected to look after the welfare of all the citizens, and ensure that the lakhs of oustees, especially in Madhya Pradesh, belonging to the farming, fishing and working classes do not face destitution. You must be aware that your predecessor, former Prime Minister Shri. Manmohan Singh Ji, committed to the Hon’ble Supreme Court in 2006 that rehabilitation, as per law, would precede any further construction and your are certainly bound both by virtue of your good office and by law to keep up this promise.

Dear Prime Minister, we hope you are aware of the fact that Justice Jha Commission, appointed by the High Court of Madhya Pradesh is investigating thousands of land registries which are forged and fake, and also corruption in payment of grants to thousands, allotment of house plots and construction at the resettlement sites. Fraud in all these has been proved, and the final report is soon likely, that crores of rupees are wasted and rehabilitation is far from complete.

We are also informed that the Report by the expert committee appointed by the Ministry of Environment till 2012 clearly concluded that most of the conditions related to the severe impacts on the natural resources in the Narmada Valley and compensatory measures are not fulfilled. Those include impacts on the health, forest, fisheries, seismically risky region, the catchment and siltation as also the command area in Gujarat. Without compliance on these, the Dam cannot and should not be pushed ahead, as you will agree.

You are certainly aware that the waters in Sardar Sarovar are also being used for the industries and new projects, such as Coca Cola plant (30 lakh liters/day), the car industry in Sanand alone (60 lakh liters/per day) and many others. Also that a few lakh hectares of land in the command area is now being diverted and reserved as industrial areas. All this indicates the change in the original plan and that there is absolutely no urgency to raise the Dam at the cost of people and the nature. Let the people receive all entitlements and natural losses be prevented and mitigated and then the Dam can be raised to completion.

You may have also been informed that the oustees in the SSP-affected areas are now legal owners of the acquired lands and houses, as per Section 24(2) of the recently passed “Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act of 2013”; since they continue to remain in possession of the acquired properties, till date. It would thus be unlawful to continue with further construction that is bound to lead to submergence and interference with the property and human rights of the owners.

We, therefore, urge you Sir, to hold a multi stakeholder consultation at the earliest, involving the people in the Valley, struggling since decades who have made a difference to the struggle by the Project affected people for their rights, across India. We expect that you will take a new democratic initiative, to know the truth and respect law, democracy, human values and human rights.

We call upon you to withhold the decision to raise the height until such a review exercise is concluded, and not to carry out any construction at the dam site.

We hope you will take a just and fair decision and respond to this appeal at the earliest.

ABOUT THE EVENT
India’s agricultural sector contributes 16% of total GDP & 10% of export earnings in the economy. Despite being largely self-sufficient in food production, Indian agriculture currently faces a slew of problems–its growth is much slower than other sectors of the economy; productivity is in decline and the income gap between farmers and the rest of the workforce is widening. India is predicted to become by 2030 the world’s most populous country. This increase in population, and rapid urbanization, coupled with rising incomes and prosperity, and with unpredictable climate changes, will put added pressures on land and water. The need of the hour is to work towards a second Green Revolution, as envisioned by successive governments. Samsung Galaxy Devices based on KNOX platform are the First Consumer Mobile Devices NIAP-Validated and Approved for U.S. Government Classified Use

Samsung’s entry onto the Commercial Solutions for Classified Program Components List proves that Samsung devices and KNOX meet the most stringent and vital security standards

New Delhi – October 29, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. announced its solutions have been approved by the United States government as the first NIAP-validated consumer mobile devices to handle the full range of classified information.  After completing ten Memoranda of Agreements (MOAs), the government added the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and the Galaxy IPSEC Virtual Private Network (VPN) Client to the Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Program Component List.

This accomplishment is the direct result of Samsung’s successful testing and certification under the U.S. government’s Common Criteria Mobile Device Fundamental Protection Profile (MDFPP) and VPN Protection Profile (VPNPP) programs. The listed Samsung devices are available for use with classified government networks and data. All devices and capabilities incorporate security features powered by Samsung KNOX.

Earlier this year Samsung mobile devices were officially included on the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Department of Defense Approved Products List for Sensitive But Unclassified use. The CSfC list for high security solutions supplements the DISA listing, enabling the U.S. government and its contractors to create composed solutions meeting the full range of U.S. government security objectives. Samsung is the only manufacturer with mobile devices on both lists.

The growing number of Samsung devices on both lists allows the U.S. government to enjoy cost effective and highly secured mobile experiences with a variety of options.

The Bank is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) in a mission mode.  The progress under the scheme as on 30^th Sep ,2014 is as under:

o   FINANCIAL INCLUSION

o   DELIVERY CHANNELS

• During the Half Year, 35 New Branches were opened & 321 New ATMs were installed.
• The Total Delivery Channels of the Bank as on 30^th Sep, 2014, stood at 4610 (2161 Branches and 2449 ATMs).

o   HR INITIATIVES

• During the Half Year, Bank recruited 953 personnel including 529 Officers & 407 Clerks.

o   OTHER INITIATIVES DURING Q2

• Festival offer on Home & Car Loans has been launched with 100% waiver in process fee. The offer is valid till 31^st Dec, 2014.
• The Bank has slashed the Rate of Interests on Home Loans. Now, all Home Loans irrespective of loan amount and tenure are available at Bank’s Base Rate i.e. 10.25% p.a.
• Rate of interest for Vehicle Loan is reduced to BR+0.50% i.e. 10.75% p.a.                  for 7 years.
• Bank has implemented National Unified USSD Platform through which mobile banking can be done without downloading any app, simply by dialing *99# from any mobile.
• Door Step Banking – Accounts can be opened at the customer’s doorstep using Laptops and Bio-metric device.
• A facility has been implemented where Advance & Smooth searching of Bank’s Branches/ ATMs / e-Lounges can be done on Bank';s web-site through Map My India.
• New feature in Net Banking has been introduced wherein Bank’s Net Banking customers can e-file taxes through their Net Banking account.

o   CSR INITIATIVES DURING Q2

• Under Swachch Vidyalaya Campaign of Govt. of India, Bank has earmarked an amount of Rs. 2.00 crore for construction of toilets in various Govt. schools. The construction is being done in PAN India level on Priority and as focused CSR activity, leading towards the dream of a “Clean and Safe” India.
• An amount of Rs. 2.40 Crore has been contributed by Staff towards Prime Minister National Relief Fund for ongoing flood relief work in Jammu & Kashmir.
• Donation has been given to Sabarmati Harijan Ashram Trust, Ahmedabad for renovation & maintenance of Primary Teacher College Building, Ahmedabad.
• The Bank has donated equipments for a Resource Centre in the college premises of Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi for visually impaired students.
• Under Child Welfare activities, Bank has given donation to Udayan Care, New Delhi and Sri Aurbindo Divine Life Trust, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan for meeting the expenses for Board, Lodging, Education, Medical and other miscellaneous needs of poor and needy children.
